About This Menopause Course
The purpose of this Menopause CPD course is to provide personal trainers with a foundational understanding of menopause, including key terminology, stages, common symptoms, and the physiological changes that may affect client well-being and training performance.
The course will support learners in developing practical, menopause-informed coaching strategies, including exercise program considerations, lifestyles and nutritional guidance (advice) within the scope of practice, and professional communication approaches to support clients during this transition.
The assessment methods include a multiple choice assessment and case study.

Menopause Course Structure
Module One: Introduction to the Menopause
Learners will explore menopause terminology and definitions, the stages of menopause and the most common symptoms clients may experience. This module also considers how menopause may present within a fitness setting and what the fitness professional may notice when working with their clients during this transition.
Module Two: Understanding the Physiological Change of Menopause
This module provides an overview of the endocrine system and the key hormones involved in the menopause-related changes. Learners will develop an understanding of how hormonal shifts may influence physical and mental well-being, including mood, and will consider menopause-related changes to bone density, muscle mass, metabolism and wider health considerations.
Module Three: Exercise Programming for Menopausal Clients
Learners will examine exercise programming principles and training considerations for menopausal clients. The content includes exercise selection and programme adaptations that support symptom management. It will delve into practical methods for maintaining progress while prioritising safety and appropriateness of training/coaching
Module 4: Module Four: Lifestyle and Nutritional Guidance for Menopause Management
This module focuses on essential lifestyle and nutritional strategies that can support clients experiencing menopause. Learners will consider the roles of physical activity, exercise, sleep, and stress management, as well as how menopause influences emotional well-being, memory, and focus, within the boundaries of a personal trainer’s scope of practice.
Module Five: Effective Support Strategies for Personal Trainers
The final module focused on the communication and client support strategies to help personal trainers work confidently and professionally with menopausal clients. Learners will explore methods for building an empathetic relationship and environment to support mental well-being and improve long-term adherence
